Tips on getting rid of ants- the dangerous species
There are dozen of species of ants and exterminators use many
different methods of controlling them. As common this subject is as
difficult is to get rid of these species. If you are lucky you will be
able to get rid of ants in a day but normally it takes days to eliminate
these dangerous species.
Not many people are aware of a way to get rid of these ants. Many
think they know how to get rid of ants but unfortunately those methods
turn out to be of temporary impact. There are different methods to get
rid of the most common species of ants.
Common ant species and the methods to control them: Sugar Ants
Pavement ants and Pharaoh ants, and most commonly known Sugar ants or
House ants are controlled and killed by the same method. By following
some small daily routines, these ants can be controlled and further
killed. Sugar ants love dirt and water. Pour a little bleach down the
drain to make sure the smell of rotting food does not attract more ants
to the kitchen.

The most common ant bait, for Sugar ants, is called sweet baits, which
is made of boric acid or borax. This distinctive species is prone to
borax. This poison does not kill these ants at once. Instead ants take
some of the sweet bait back to their colony and dispense the poison meal
to other ants. This is how these dangerous species are exterminated.
Argentine Ants Argentine ants usually nest in the ground at
the base of large trees in well-drained spots or under piles of manure
and other heat producing rubbish. The fact of the matter is that
argentine ants can never be gotten rid of. They are simply too resilient
to be controlled with any baits. Until scientists come up with a method
to finally get rid of these species, there are few things, which can be
done to help control Argentine ants.

To make sure Argentine ants do not get in to the periphery of the house,
the house must be sealed properly. Talcum powder may also be used for
getting rid of Argentine ants or at least controlling their total
invasion. To get rid of the Argentine ants, which are invading the yard,
broadcast baiting with protein-based granular ant baits is a good
option. Granular baits are spread across a lawn much like fertilizer is
spread.
Fire Ants

Getting rid of Fire ants is no way an easy task since it is the most
aggressive of ant species. It is increasingly becoming the next
dangerous insect like Africanised honey bee. The most common reaction to
Fire ant sting is intense burning pain and the formation of blisters.
Although it is not possible that a human can be overwhelmed or killed by
a swarm of fire ants, it is indeed possible that the proteins found in
the Fire ant’s poison can cause death by severe allergic reactions. It
is not possible to get rid of these distinctive species completely;
however, it is possible to control their populations.
The first step to getting rid of fire ants is to engage in what is
called broadcast baiting. Second step to getting rid of fire ant is to
engage in what is called drenching some three to six weeks after
broadcasting baiting. Usually, if the situation is not controllable, a
professional should be called. There are many brands, which are
manufacturing ant killer specifically for fire ants. It also appears
that these products containing hydramethylnon, are the fastest acting
and most recommended products available to get rid of such dangerous
species. These dangerous species can surely be called a total nuisance
for any one, anywhere, and in any season. However, by adhering to some
preventing measures, we can surely get rid of them. |
